Cosmetic medical techniques have advanced greatly in recent years.  Many aspects of facial aging can be addressed with safe and effective procedures that offer little downtime and natural-looking results.  While wrinkles, brown spots and lost volume can be treated with existing procedures, until now there has been no minimally invasive way to lift the deeper layers of mid-facial skin, one of the major contributors to an aged and tired appearance.

Silhouette InstaLift™ is a simple procedure to re-contour your face, lifting the deeper layers of your skin for a more youthful appearance.

During the procedure the physician will use sutures with bidirectional cones to reposition and elevate the skin on your face.  The in-office procedure typically takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. You will see immediate results and have minimal recovery time after the procedure.

FDA-approved in April 2015 for use in the mid-face, InstaLift is a minimally invasive approach which uses absorbable sutures with tiny bi-directional cones to lift and suspend the deeper layers of the skin. The suture and cone material are both made of glycolide/L-lactide (PLGA). An added bonus: as the small cones slowly dissolve over time, the tissue heals around them, stimulating collagen production, making the skin firmer and thicker. Even better: the results can be seen instantly.

A local anesthetic is injected into the insertion points on the cheeks, and then the needle with attached suture is threaded under the skin to the exit point. Once the cones are in place, the needles are snipped off the sutures, and procedure is complete. The dissolvable sutures with bi-directional cones hold the skin in an elevated position; they will lift, project, and redrape the skin to contour the face.  As the sutures are absorbed, they stimulate collagen growth, which helps to reflate a youthful cheek and lift sagging jowls.

Silhouette InstaLift™ provides a vast improvement thanks to the use of dissolve-able threads and cones made up of a synthetic material called polylactic acid. This material slowly disintegrates as the body creates scar tissues, which provides a natural lift for the face in their place. Through the use of bidirectional cones, the lifting caused by InstaLift can be more finely controlled. Combined, these advantages result in the long-lasting effects of InstaLift while avoiding the potential side effects once felt by patients who chose previous versions of thread lifting.

Silhouette InstaLift Double Action

Silhouette InstaLift’s double action of lift and regeneration helps smooth the skin and contour the face, allowing you to look your absolute best. First, the tissue is lifted from within by the sutures, providing instant lift and contour. Next, the sutures stimulate collagen production, allowing for a regenerative effect that means the skin will continue to look better, firmer, plumper, and more youthful over time. The Silhouette Lift is the facelift that keeps on working long past the initial treatment!

Recovery Time After Silhouette InstaLift™

Another major benefit of the Silhouette non-surgical facelift is the lack of any major downtime. Following the procedure, you may be slightly swollen, red, or bruised. These side effects are common and should resolve on their own within a few days, or up to a few weeks in rare cases. Bruising can always occur following trauma to the skin, but there are steps you can take to help minimize the risk, including:

• Patients taking blood thinning medications such as aspirin should confirm with their primary care physicians whether they should halt medication before the procedure
• Stop taking blood thinning supplements such as fish oil for at least two weeks beforehand
• Avoid alcohol for a week or so before the procedure
• Use arnica supplements before and after the procedure

These are by no means a guarantee that you will not bruise, but they will help to minimize your chances of severe bruising. If you do bruise following the procedure, it can be easily managed with arnica and over the counter medication, and can be covered with makeup. Redness can also be covered with makeup. Swelling can be managed by keeping the head elevated at all times, including when sleeping, and by icing the affected area regularly.

Important Silhouette InstaLift™ Safety Considerations

Silhouette InstaLift™ device is indicated for use in mid-face suspension surgery to fixate the cheek sub dermis in an elevated position. Users should be familiar with recommended techniques involving Silhouette InstaLift devices, as well as proper patient selection and suture placement.
The Silhouette InstaLift™ procedure can not be used in patients with any known allergy or foreign body sensitivities to plastic biomaterial or in situations where internal fixation is otherwise contraindicated, (e.g. infection.) The procedure should also not be done on patients appearing to have very thin soft tissue of the face in which the implant may be visible or palpable.  After placement patients may experience a minimal acute inflammatory tissue reaction. Symptoms may include minor pain, swelling and bruising. Material sensitivity / allergic reactions should be reported to Silhouette Lift Inc. Implantation of foreign materials in tissue can result in histological reactions. Other potential side effects include sensory nerve injury, asymmetry or banding. Individual results may vary.

The Silhouette InstaLift procedure is available only through a licensed practitioner.

This application of Silhouette InstaLift may include off-label applications of FDA approved indications.
